Ethical Sourcing

Our leather comes exclusively from Trujillo, Peru – a region with centuries of tradition in leather processing. We deliberately choose full-grain leather – the best the leather industry has to offer.

What makes full-grain leather so special: It is the only type of leather that is left in its natural state. No artificial coatings, no treatments that alter the surface. This not only makes it more robust and durable than other types of leather – it also makes it unique. Over time, full-grain leather adapts to the wearer, develops a personal patina, and thus becomes more and more characterful. A shoe made of full-grain leather is not a disposable product; it is an investment that gains beauty with age.

Only the best hides are considered for us – each carefully hand-checked before further processing.

Our shoes are made by artisans who have mastered their craft for generations. Family-run businesses in Trujillo, where every step – from cutting to finishing – is done by hand. Fair working conditions and the highest quality standards are non-negotiable for us.

Behind Octaviano is a network of people we have carefully selected and with whom we work closely – from the farmers around Trujillo who raise their cattle under natural conditions, to the tanners who refine the raw material with decades of experience, to our artisans who handcraft each shoe.
